Field Tests

 

Starting with Generic Hovercraft

Replacing group of the rubber coated skirts with vinyl coated, mixed vinyl up/ rubber down, and HoverCollege's Teflon double coated skirts.

Observations

Sharp Obstacle test most skirts deteriorated except Double Coated Teflon Skirt still Usable

After Road jump Double Coated Teflon Skirt is the best holding shape

Both rubber and vinyl are ripped after Snow setting

Double Coated Teflon Skirt still Usable

After the Frozen water test regular skirt ripped

Teflon proved ability to slick from sticky situations.

Double Coated Teflon Skirt proved to be able to hold firm and slide from the snow setting faster

After the jump over full cushion Double Coated Teflon Skirt proved better hull protection against regular skirt 

 

because inside regular skirts is not coated it collects amble snow to hold the hovercraft down and rip the skirt

 

with increasing the air pressure the snow did not pass throw, the regular skirt got off.

The amount of snow collected in Un-coated inner skirt is enough to maintain solid connection with the ground all the times.

Clear Skirt showed the tendency of Double Coated Teflon Skirt to take bigger space with low pressure.

Also show the snow with in uncoated back skirt that hold the hovercraft rear down. 

Clear Skirt shows the ability of the Double Coated Teflon Skirt to hold shape after the pressure is off.

Without Double Coated Teflon Skirt the front drag effect is clear and the hovercraft front climb up the rare sinks, that slows the hovercraft and keeps friction contact with surface.

 

 

 

 

 

With hybrid skirt for test it is clear that front drag is high with regular skirt, very low with Double Coated Teflon Skirt (red) this allow the rare to rise up and maintain full hovering.

The Low Friction of Double Coated Teflon Skirt Allows the following:

  • Low Friction with water
  • Low Friction with obstacles
  • Low Friction with Ice
  • Low Friction with the pressured air
  • Low Friction with other skirts

Double Coated Teflon Skirt is the right answer for modern Hovering.
